The Pixel 11 Pro Fold has made its debut at the Federal Communications Commission and it's just in time for Google's upcoming launch event. It's a regulatory filing that confirms a few features that were previously leaked, and adds a couple new tidbits from Google.

Google recently sent out invites for the launch event of Pixel 11 in the middle of August. This event will unveil four new smartphones: the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and the Pixel 11 Pro "Fold. It is hardly surprising that one of these devices appears in FCC records now as the launch is just a few weeks away.

FCC Filing of the Pixel 11 Pro Fold Revealed

It states that the device has a model number GZDQ6. This is the same model number that was previously leaked to connect the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, and the pairing doesn't seem too out there. A picture in the files also reveals a bendable phone, further bolstering the identification.

The device is capable of supporting Bluetooth LE, LTE, Ultra-wideband, NFC and Thread, according to the filing. It's a pretty typical collection of connections you'd expect to see on a flagship these days, except for the fact that support for Thread is interesting because it's part of smart home standards such as Matter. The documents also mention that the phone will be accessible for people with hearing impairment, which is typically not a big deal when talking about phones.

The List of Expected Specs:

The FCC filing doesn't tell the whole story, so the rest of the picture is from previous rumors. According to reports, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold will come with a minimum of 4,658mAh of battery. For a foldable, that's a modest increase for the battery life, as it often suffers because of the split design.

We also expect to get 12GB and 16GB variants of this memory, too. That allows customers some options depending on how much multitasking they want to do, and how much more it's possible on a larger screen than on a standard phone, which it will be on a foldable.

The specs show a 1,080×2,342 OLED display on the outer screen, with the ability to display up to 120Hz, and a 2,076×2,160 OLED display on the inner screen, which can go down to 1Hz. The large refresh rate on the inside display should help conserve battery life for activities such as reading, but not compromise the overall smoothness while scrolling or viewing content for gaming.

All of these numbers are tentative until Google validates the figures, which means they should be taken with a grain of salt. The trend of leaks, however, has been fairly predictable, though, at this stage, a big surprise would be hard to imagine.

This is what it means when heading into August.

The closer that an FCC listing is to the actual launch date, the closer the device is to becoming available for mass production. This filing is a positive sign for all Pixel 11 Pro Fold enthusiasts that Google is still on track for its launch date of August 12.

When considering this phone, the confirmed connectivity options and hearing aid compatibility can help as a data point if it is a factor in your purchase, along with hearing aid support. Battery and display rumors remain to be followed as these numbers will help to determine whether this generation is a worthwhile improvement over the previous generation.

More information will be trickling out in the coming weeks as we approach the launch date.
