It's been another Galaxy Tab S12 Plus leak that provides us with our best look yet at Samsung's forthcoming tablet. The tablet has just come out of two certification databases, including one with a real picture of the tablet. This is as Samsung is rolling out its new Tablet S12 Plus and Tablet S12 Ultra later this year.

Samsung galaxy Tab S12 Plus was unveiled in the Bureau of Indian Standards as model number SM-X840 and SM-X864B. The first number is for Wi-Fi only version, the second number is for the 5G version.

These model numbers aren't brand new information. These were first spotted on the GSMA IMEI database this year. Nevertheless a new cert appearance typically indicates that a new product is getting closer to release, even if it doesn't announce new specs itself.

The Live Image Features A Recognisable Design

The more interesting find was from the Safety Korea database where there was a live image of the tablet. This listing is similar to the Indian certification, except that it does not provide any information about the hardware. However, a picture can communicate a valuable amount of information about design.

Thick, even bezels are seen around the display. It is noteworthy that some rumors suggested that Samsung would use punch-hole front camera on this generation. But rather, the camera resides in the bezel, as with previous models of the Tab S.

The punch-hole camera might still be in the plans of Samsung for its more premium Tab S12 Ultra. But for now, this is just a hypothesis as no live image of the Ultra has been released yet.

When the Galaxy Tab S12 Plus will be released?

Samsung hasn't confirmed a release date for the Tab S12 series. However, there are some lessons to be learned from past launches. The devices usually show up on the GSMA IMEI database 6-7 months after being sold.

If you base the timeline off that, it appears to be likely that an August or September launch is in the cards. It's important to note, however, that Samsung has the ability to change these plans at any time, so this is just an estimate and not an actual date.

For those waiting for the Samsung tablet, this leak means that the waiting period won't be too long. So far, the design information suggests more of a familiar design rather than a major overhaul. For those who enjoyed the older Tab S models, that might be a positive, but if you were hoping for a larger visual change, then it's a negative.

But whichever the case is, further details will be becoming available in the next few months, closer to the launch. Be sure to watch for benchmark listings and official teasers, which follow certification leaks such as this.
