It's the 2nd Anniversary of the original HMD Skyline. The rumored new successor has just been hit with a new leak. Now, a new report shows that the HMD Skyline 2 will have a much more powerful punch. In particular, the camera system is more impressive than it was first reported. In addition, the processor is bigger than what we had thought.
A Faster Chipset
This is the newest leak from a trusted X account, Smashx_60. A reliable source for sharing accurate details of phone numbers for HMDs. Initially it was reported that Skyline 2 will be powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip. That has been totally changed with new updates, though. As per the latest news, HMD has finally upgraded this device with a new Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor.
Memory, Storage, and Display
This new chip will have either 8GB or 12GB of RAM. Users have a choice of either 256GB or 256GB+ microSD card storage. This means that you can increase the overall storage up to 1TB. Also, HMD is continuing the impressive 144Hz OLED display of the previous model. So, you will be able to enjoy smooth scrolling and extremely responsive gameplay.
Sensors Over Mixed Resolutions
The leaked camera setup is very interesting. The initial rumors suggested a dual layout similar to the previous one, with a wide 13MP sensor and a telephoto 50MP sensor. The new data, however, reveals that HMD chose not to get into this poorly matched deal. Instead it's taking a 108MP main camera with two 50MP sensors.
In addition, the front of the cell phone will feature a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus and electronic image stabilization (EIS). It's a huge step up for a mid-range phone. A match of the resolution of the secondary lenses may be significant. That could mean a more uniform performance with switching between the ultrawide and telephoto lenses, for instance. So zooming in and out should be much easier.

Charging, Repair, and Retro Design
The leaks also suggest that the Skyline 2 will be capable of 40W wired fast charging. This feature is becoming popular among mid range smartphones very rapidly. Plus, HMD also included wireless fast charging Qi2. There will also be stereo speakers, a dedicated camera capture button and a USB 3.2 Type-C port.
Most notably, the phone will mark what HMD refers to as "Gen2 repairability. As the name implies, this feature is all about home repair being quick and simple.
As far as style is concerned, buyers may find Black, Yellow and Cyan colors. There were earlier reports of an "overhaul. The Skyline 2, however, will keep much of the iconic appearance of the original Skyline which is currently on sale for $399.99
When The Skyline 2 Will Launch?
As of yet, HMD hasn't released an official date of the publication of the device. But the bulk of tech analysts still believe it will be later this year. In the meantime, other variants already rumored, such as the Skyline 2 Business Edition and the Skyline 2 GT, are still unknown. HMD might have passed them over for this flagship model.
HMD is still a recognized brand for its simple and easy-to-maintain Android devices, offering a sense of uniqueness through their styling. These new specs, then, indicate a massive jump in capability, not just a mere iteration of the original Skyline, since things went so well for that one for those reasons. This story will be updated as soon as HMD shares an official statement.
