Motorola Edge 70 Max is finally coming to India, plus this time it's no rumor, Motorola itself confirmed it. A dedicated microsite for this phone has gone live on Flipkart, offering a first official glimpse of its design. It's set to become fifth member of that Edge 70 family, a house already holding Edge 70, Edge 70 Fusion, Edge 70 Pro, plus Edge 70 Pro+.
On that Flipkart microsite, Motorola pushed three things forward separately. First, a new flat design, meaning instead of Edge series' familiar curved sides, a flat, modern build arrives this time. Second, a hint of wireless charging, a big addition for this series. Third, its most curiosity-raising claim, a 46 percent improvement in NPU performance. NPU is that part of a phone handling AI tasks. Meaning Motorola wants AI itself as this phone's core story this time.
That wireless charging matter grew firmer through another source. Earlier this phone got caught in WPC certification, where its name plus 25 watt wireless charging stood confirmed. Getting wireless charging in Edge series' price territory is genuinely good news for buyers.
But confirmed news ends right here, everything after this comes from leaks, so taking it with a pinch of salt is wise. Leaked details say Edge 70 Max could be strongest phone of this whole series, possibly carrying Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip inside. Alongside sits a triple camera setup at back. Word of a 12GB RAM version is floating too. If these prove true, it plays straight in flagship territory.
Price plus launch date, Motorola keeps both under wraps still. A live microsite means that wait shouldn't stretch long though, usually once such teasers begin, announcements arrive within weeks.
For India's market this phone carries separate meaning. Motorola strengthened its place there mostly in mid-range territory over recent years, but its presence at that very top floor stays thin. If Edge 70 Max arrives with a chip like Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, it could steal sleep from mid-premium phones of OnePlus, iQOO, plus Samsung. Only one thing remains worth watching now, where Motorola places its price. For that answer, keep eyes on Flipkart itself.
