That age-old torture of sending files between Android plus iPhone users is slowly becoming history. On that list of change now sits a new name, Motorola. Its Motorola Razr Fold can now send files directly to iPhone, iPad, plus Mac through Google's Quick Share, working just like AirDrop. This is first Motorola phone ever to gain this ability.

Android Authority caught this first, hands-on. One of their team members sent files from his own Razr Fold straight to a MacBook, screenshots included. Of course, this news didn't exactly fall from thin air. Google itself had noted earlier on its website that Razr Fold would receive this feature "soon". Now that word turned real, though Motorola itself hasn't made an official announcement yet.

For anyone who doesn't know this whole story, a little background. In November 2025, Google surprised everyone by announcing its Quick Share would now work with Apple's AirDrop. Funny part is, it was built without any help from Apple. Pixel 10 series received it first, then it slowly spread across other brands. Its working method is simple: an Android user sends a file through Quick Share, while an iPhone user receives it through AirDrop. Nobody needs to download any extra app. Only that iPhone side must set AirDrop visibility to "Everyone for 10 Minutes".

Recalling what this task once demanded shows how big a relief this is. Uploading files to Google Drive then sending links, ruining photo quality through WhatsApp, emailing yourself, or hunting down a cable. Doing all that even in this era was downright laughable.

For Razr Fold, this feature carries special meaning. It's Motorola's big bet on a book-style foldable, holding an 8.1-inch screen inside, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, a 6,000 mAh battery. People buy such phones for mini-tablet style use: editing photos, reading documents, handling work files. These tasks often demand sending files to a nearby MacBook or iPad. Now that wall came down.

Motorola isn't alone on this list though, rather a late-arriving guest. Pixel 9 plus 10 series, Samsung's Galaxy S24 through S26, Z Fold 6 plus newer foldables, OnePlus 15, Oppo Find X9 series plus Find N6, Honor Magic V6, vivo X300 Ultra, Xiaomi 17T Pro, all gained this ability earlier. According to Google's list, waiting next in line are Oppo Find X8 series, Honor Magic 8 Pro, plus vivo X300 along with X300 Pro.

One question stays open though. When do Motorola's other phones get it? Nothing is known about that yet, Google releases this feature model by model. Chipsets are believed to play a role behind this, since matching Apple's wireless technology demands special support. So anyone holding an older Motorola has no option but waiting for now. Still, its direction is clear: that old barbed-wire fence between Android plus Apple keeps coming apart, one piece at a time.
