The Redmi K100 Series will be one of the most ambitious smartphone launches from Redmi. According to the new leak, the phone will feature a high-refresh-rate display, a huge battery, and a flagship-level camera setup. The specs are not confirmed by Xiaomi, but it's a trusted and experienced tipster.
According to the reports, the Redmi K100 Series might be available next month as well. The anticipated early release could possibly be connected to Xiaomi's intention to use Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip in the rumored to be coming later in September Xiaomi 18 series.
Redmi K100 Series Specifications Leaked!
The engineering prototype, as the latest leak reveals, has an impressive 185Hz refresh rate and massive flat display with rounded corners. A higher refresh rate will make scrolling, gaming and animation look a lot smoother than on a standard smartphone display.
It is anticipated to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. It can also have a graphics performance dedicated display chip to enhance the graphics performance of the game and video during play.
Photography may be one more big highlight. Redmi K100 Series is said to have a 200MP primary camera with a large sensor, along with a 50MP periscope telephoto camera to capture distant shots with greater clarity. In fact, if true, this would be a great boost to the users who like mobile photography.
The leak also reveals a number of high-end additions, such as an additional large 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, improved stereo speakers, a more powerful vibration motor and waterproof and water resistant ratings of IP68 and IP69.
So why is the Redmi K100 Series a potential large leap?Why could the Redmi K100 Series be a significant upgrade?
The most obvious of the changes seems to be battery capacity. According to the reports, the prototype has a 9,000mAh battery which is reportedly one of the largest batteries in the flagship smartphone. The device will also be compatible with 100W wired fast charging and wireless charging as well.
If the specs are not altered in the final device, the Redmi K100 Series will be a big leap up from the Redmi K90 Pro Max. That model has a 7,560mAh battery, 50W wireless charging, 100W wired charging, a 50MP main camera and a 50MP 5x periscope telephoto camera.
The name of the next device is yet to be disclosed. The leaked hardware suggests it could come in a Redmi K100 Pro or Redmi K100 Pro Max.
Like all early leaks, the information should take a grain of salt until Xiaomi officially releases it. But if the claimed specs are correct then the Redmi K100 Series might be one of the most significant changes in the series in recent years.
