Moto has introduced yet another addition to its G Power phone series. The G77 Power has just been launched in India, and will complement the existing G37 Power, G57 Power, and G67 Power models already available in the country. It doesn't entirely replace any of them, but takes bits and pieces from each and combines them into a new package.

An eye-catching highlight is the same as for all phones in this lineup: a large 7,000mAh battery. It is powered at 30W, and can also share power with other devices via 6W reverse power, just as the other three G Power models do.

Chipset and Performance

Motorola opted for the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 in this handset, which was also used in the G37 Power. This is less than what is available on the G57 Power and G67 Power, which feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 and Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, respectively. It is, however, too late for those two chips, and the G37 Power (and its Dimensity 6400) is still relatively new.

It's accompanied by 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. There's also a microSD slot, which is compatible with cards up to 1TB, completely missing from both the G57 Power and G67 Power. The software front, it comes with Android 16, and will receive one major OS update to Android 17, and for security patches, the phone will be supported for three years.

Display and Cameras

Motorola Moto G77 Power features a 6.72 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and refresh rate of 120Hz. It's an 8-bit display with a peak brightness of 1,050 nits in high brightness mode and the fingerprint sensor is positioned on the side frame rather than underneath the display.

The 32MP selfie camera, a spec Motorola typically reserves for the more expensive G67 Power in this lineup, is up front. This is a real improvement in the camera department, as the other two have only 8MP front camera.

The back has a 50MP Sony Lytia 600 sensor with an f/1.8 lens and PDAF. It's joined by an 8MP ultra-wide camera with 120-degree field of view! All three cameras can capture 1080p video but only the main sensor offers 60 frames per second.

The phone keeps a 3.5mm headphone jack, which comes with Hi-Res Audio certification and FM radio support. The phone also has stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos built in, which should make it a perfectly balanced phone for the price.

Connectivity options include 5G (sub-6GHz), Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.4 without NFC. This also means that there is no tap to pay support off the box. As is common at this price point, the USB-C port only supports data transfer at USB 2.0 speeds.

There is also a fair level of consideration of the durability. The phone is dust and splash resistant (IP64) and has been tested to MIL-STD-810H. A Gorilla Glass 7i layer covers the display. It has a mass of 215g and is 8.9mm thick.

Price and Availability

Motorola has put the listing of Moto G77 Power on its Indian website and Flipkart is rolling the sales from July 13. The price of the phone is ₹26,000 (approx. $270) and it is available in a single configuration, which is 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. The old G37 Power avails for nearly ₹20,000, indicating that the camera and screen enhancements are costing more.

The mobile will also be available in the country's physical stores. The selection of colors is available to the buyer – Impenetrable (a greyish color), Nautical Blue, Fuchsia Red and Laurel Green.

Should You Buy Moto G7 Power?

If battery life and a bright, smooth display are more important to you than raw processing power, then the Moto G77 Power is a good option. An additional 32MP selfie camera and expandable storage is also a decent addition. As for contactless payments, however, the absence of NFC may prove to be a dealbreaker. For gaming or for multitasking, those who wish to get better performance may want to consider the Snapdragon-powered G57 Power or G67 Power, which are priced in line with the new one.
